Welcome to the Larelève Journey!
Books became my solace and teacher when I left for the United States from Haiti at 20 years old. At the time, I only knew how to speak French and Haitian Creole.
Through books, I was able to learn English. I gained enough confidence to start participating in conversations and making friends.
My love for reading and storytelling grew quickly. It’s why I founded Larelève - because I want to create a world where children and youth become lifelong readers. Read more of my story here.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, Larelève is a 501(c)(3) U.S. non-profit organization. Your contribution is tax-exempt to the extent provided by law.

How much of my donation will go towards book purchases and programs?
100% will go towards books and educational programs. More information is available on our policies page.
Can I donate if I live outside of the United States?
Yes, however, we only accept donations in U.S. dollars. If you live outside of the U.S., consult with your tax advisor to determine the tax deductible status for your home country.
